Minutes, 1966-1991.

Minutes of this soil and water conservation district, which was founded on November 7, 1949 and ceased operations in 2003 due to budget constraints. The district was not, however, abolished. The minutes detail the district's work on a one-on-one basis with landowners, connecting them with the state, federal, and private financial and technical resources needed to put conservation practices on the land. It also provided assistance to local governments and citizen organizations and was designated, by law, to provide technical assistance to the state's Natural Resources Department for resolving wetlands violations. At the time of its closing, the district was supervised by five elected supervisors and staffed by a district manager, office administrator, engineer, limnologist, water resources specialist, wetland specialist, natural resources specialist, conservation specialist, education coordinator, conservation technician, and GIS coordinator.
